Every time I travel anywhere in the world, I always recommend people to use Airbnb since is so much better rather than booking a hotel. You can book anywhere from vintage stays to unique homes which you won’t be able to experience with hotels. For instance, you can book homes like the ones below. If you want to take your trip to new heights with one-of-a-kind-treehouses, follow the footsteps of adventurers with boats of all shapes and sizes, and embrace a mix of indoor comfort and the great outdoors with Yurts.

Airbnb-is-the-best

Throughout my travels and experiences with Airbnb in multiple countries, I have realized one thing that Airbnb is really the best place to find a fantastic and affordable accommodation.  I have used it 12 times in different countries and I have never had a bad experience. Knock on wood, however, I always make sure to read the reviews before booking. For those that aren’t aware of this, Airbnb is a “community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodation around the world.” There are rentals at every corner of the world, over 190 countries and 34,000 cities.  This concept has revolutionized the way people travel. Here are some reasons why I find Airbnb to be the best option and why you should consider using Airbnb or other similar websites to find accommodation when planning your next trip.

It’s incredibly Affordable

Most people tend to head to hostels for budget accommodations. What people don’t realize is that Airbnb can also be super inexpensive, especially if you are traveling with another person. For instance, in Cuba, my Fiance and I averaged $50 per night. Now, if that would have been my friend and me traveling, we would most likely split the cost it would have been only $25 per night for each. $25 is so worth it for your own space. The great thing about our stays in Cuba was that they were in prime locations, they were always next to tourist attractions and yet it was still cheap. Here are some tips before you travel to Cuba that you need to know!

As you can see there are so many cute stays that you can find as cheap as $60 and best of all is that all these are prices for an entire apartment!

Great Locations

Because there are so many Airbnb rentals in each city around the world, you have many options to find a location that best suits your travel needs. Maybe you want to be close to a skiing resort or perhaps you want to be close to the train station to get around easier. You can either stay around town or take a break from all the noise and opt for a place further away to decompress. Whatever you’d like you can find a suitable place for you.

You live like a local

With Airbnb, you will be surrounded by locals since usually the stays are in apartment buildings or homes close to each other. At least, for the most part.  So, for this reason, you will get the real feel for what it would be like to live in the city you are visiting. The other amazing thing is that you will get to eat at local shops, that means low prices!

Usually, Airbnbs have a keycode and this will help locals mistake you for someone who actually lives there full-time.  You will have full use of your amenities like a kitchen and other goodies! You might even get invited for a drink or meal with the hosts you are staying with. This is such a great method to meet people as you travel around the world! There’s no better way to get to know the culture than staying with the locals in the city.

Insider Information

When I check into an Airbnb, I’ll always ask the host for restaurant and tourist attractions recommendations.  Hosts/Locals always know the best places to eat that Yelp and other touristic brochures don’t know yet. Want to know the best most affordable place to eat locally? Just ask your host! Hosts always tend to give you great advice!

Personalized Touch

You will notice that each Airbnb has it’s a personal touch to it. The. rooms are usually supplied with all the necessary things from guidebooks to free wifi. Most offer fresh towels, bath products, and even some things to drink and eat. With Airbnb, you are able to chat with the host via the Airbnb messaging system to ask them any questions you’d like regarding the stay or even to get tips! Are you arriving early or want to put the bags somewhere? Maybe you can ask your host if you can check in early or even just leave the bags somewhere. Some hosts are pretty flexible. Arriving while your host is out of work, your host will make sure everything is impeccable for when you arrive. They will also leave instructions and tell you how to get into the apartment when they aren’t there. Whatever you are concerned with Airbnb has your back, on the contrary to a hostel. You can’t get a personal touch with hostels.

The Rooms are Clean, Private, and Enjoyable

After a long day of sightseeing and walking in order to explore what a city has to offer, I like nothing more than to head to a comfortable bed.  Most Airbnbs are private rooms or entire places but you can choose to share a room as well. On the other hand, other people prefer to have the social aspect of traveling so they choose the hostel way.  In my opinion, I rather have a quiet place to recover from the day.

Hopefully, these reasons help you out determining if you’d like to go the Airbnb route, however, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t go to a Hotel. If you do go the Airbnb route, my advice is to look at the reviews, that’s super important! Also, be respectful as a guest, be mindful that locals live around the area so follow the rules.

Happy Airbnb-ing!
